Our approach to ABI Care

The Vitale Care comprehensive training programme for our Care Professionals means we can provide the highest quality care for people with acquired brain injuries. Because of this foundation, we understand the complex needs that living with a brain injury brings. To effectively respond to these needs, we train our Care Professionals to deliver comprehensive care that promotes recovery, rehabilitation, and independence. In addition, we work closely with your wider specialist healthcare team to develop care that we tailor to your physical, cognitive, and emotional needs. We also strengthen our approach through a close partnership with acquired brain injury specialists LV Rehabilitation.  This helps enhance our training and our understanding of how to support people living with an acquired brain injury positively.

What is Acquired Brain Injury?

Acquired brain injury (ABI) is an injury to the brain that occurs after birth. It can be caused by trauma, infection, stroke, or other factors.

Symptoms vary depending on the severity and location of the injury, but can include cognitive, physical, and emotional changes. We believe that care for people living with ABI should be comprehensive and we tailor it to address your needs.  We train our Care Professionals to manage the unique challenges associated with ABI, including cognitive rehabilitation, physical therapy, and emotional support. Finally, we know that collaboration with healthcare professionals is essential in providing effective care for people with ABI.
