Of course, it’s essential to consider the additional non-financial benefits for anybody considering live-in care for themselves or a family member. Opting for live-in care allows you to stay in your home, surrounded by familiar surroundings and happy memories. This stability brings with it a retained sense of independence.
At Vitale Care Chichester, we offer three levels of live-in care:
If you opt for live-in care, one of our Care Professionals will live with you in your home. They must have a bedroom in your house (they can share your bathroom) where they can sleep at night. They are not on duty at night, but you can take comfort in knowing they are there.
We always give our Live-in Care Professionals a food allowance, so apart from staples like bread, milk and sugar, you have no additional cost to cover. However, many of our clients enjoy sharing meals with their Care Professionals. They find the companionship benefits far outweigh the small additional grocery costs they must spend on a meal for two people rather than just themselves.
Although your live-in Care Professional lives and sleeps in your home, they are not on duty 24/7. A day of care is ten hours. Your Care Professional works twelve-hour shifts, with two hours off during that shift. If you want to cover your live-in carer’s two-hour break, we can arrange for another Care Professional to attend (we charge an additional hourly rate for this service).
