The Questions Families Ask Us Most

When families begin looking for care for an elderly loved one, many search online for South Coast home care or West Sussex home care and find a long list of providers. It can be challenging to know which one to choose. We believe that being open and transparent from the very start is the best way to help people make an informed decision. That is why we have gathered some of the questions families ask us most, along with the answers we give.

West Sussex & South Coast Home Care

What areas do you cover?

Our carers support clients across West Sussex, from the South Coast to north of the South Downs. We are a growing home care company, so even if we do not offer services in your area now, we might soon. Please get in touch with us if your town or village is not listed here, as we may still be able to help.

What types of care do you offer?

We provide a complete range of home care services, including hourly care, night care, and 24-hour live-in care. Services include personal care such as washing and dressing, as well as companionship visits, meal preparation and light household tasks.

How much does care at home cost?

We believe in being upfront and transparent about pricing. We provide hourly care from £35.36 per hour on weekdays and £38.48 per hour on weekends. If you need live-in care, we tailor a plan for you. Our live-in care starts from £187.46 per day. We charge our clients a below-average fee (compared to our competitors) and still pay our Care Professionals an above-average wage.

We have developed a sustainable business model that is not driven solely by profits but by our genuine commitment to being a local care company that provides outstanding care to local people.

Can you help if my relative needs specialist care?

Yes. We train our Care Professionals in a wide range of specialist skills. We support clients with a range of specialist requirements, from dementia and Parkinson’s support to mobility assistance and palliative care.

How quickly can you start?

Once we have carried out an assessment and agreed on a care plan, we can often begin visits within a few days. If you need home care across the South Coast or West Sussex urgently, we do our best to start sooner.

Will my loved one have the same carer each time?

We understand that continuity matters to you and your loved ones, helping to build familiarity, trust and comfort. We cannot guarantee the exact Care Professional each time, but we aim for the same small team to visit regularly.

How do you (or we) decide what care is needed?

We carry out a detailed assessment, listening carefully to the client and their family. This process helps to personalise your care plan, which we review regularly. By tailoring home care to each individual, we make sure support always matches changing needs.

Is home care always the best choice?

For many people, remaining at home with support is an ideal solution. It helps our clients live confidently and independently in the comfort of their home, and is often more cost-effective than residential care. However, there are cases where residential care may be more appropriate, and we will always give an honest opinion.

How will I be kept informed?

We can include people involved in a client’s care in their “care circle” to improve communications. This is a special feature of our state-of-the-art care management software, which we implement at a client’s request. It allows their loved ones and wider healthcare team to stay up to date with their care and gives them peace of mind.

Why families choose us:

At Vitale Care, we believe that home care means more than finding a provider; it is about working with a team that values independence, understands local communities and adapts as needs evolve.
