Nicola Munday, Registered Care Manager
When you receive a cancer diagnosis you’ll probably feel a range of emotions: fear, bewilderment, shock and confusion. With more than 1000 new cancer diagnoses in the UK every day, you’ll not be surprised to learn that the Vitale team has very personal experience of a cancer diagnosis.
Our goal is to support you holistically, addressing your physical, emotional, and practical needs to ensure you feel cared for and understood every step of the way.
Cancer diagnosis and treatment often bring a whirlwind of emotions, including fear, anxiety, and uncertainty. We recognise that these feelings are a natural part of the journey. Our trained Care Professionals are here to listen and offer encouragement, and companionship. We understand the importance of mental well-being and work closely with your wider healthcare team and support groups to help you access professional mental health support when needed.
Cancer treatments such as chemotherapy, radiation, and surgery can result in various physical challenges, including fatigue, pain, and mobility issues. Our Care Professionals are trained to support you, helping with bathing, dressing, meal preparation, and medication management. We want you to be comfortable and maintain as much independence as possible. Our Care Professionals are skilled in helping you manage symptoms and side effects, providing the necessary care to alleviate discomfort
Navigating the healthcare system can be overwhelming. We offer support in coordinating with your medical team, scheduling appointments, and ensuring that your treatment plan is followed accurately. Our Care Professionals can help. They can accompany you to medical appointments. If needed they can support you to communicate effectively with healthcare providers. They can help you understand your treatment options and instructions.
Proper nutrition is crucial during cancer treatment, yet it can be challenging to maintain due to treatment side effects such as nausea or loss of appetite. Our Care Professionals can prepare nutritious meals tailored to your dietary needs and preferences. This helps ensure you receive the necessary nutrients to support your recovery and overall health.
Managing household tasks can become burdensome during treatment. We offer help with chores such as cleaning, laundry, shopping and cooking, allowing you to focus on your health and well-being. We aim to create a stress-free environment where you can rest and recover.
Hourly, nighttime and live-in care
We can provide care tailored to your needs throughout your cancer journey. From a couple of hours each week during the day or in the middle of the night, our Care Professionals are available to assist you.
Your cancer care journey is unique. We work with you, and your loved ones, to create a personalised care plan tailored to your specific needs and preferences. This plan is regularly reviewed and adjusted to ensure it’s always effective and relevant to your condition. Should you need it we are also able to support you at the end of your journey with comfort and support through our palliative and end-of-life care.
